Telehealth Options

My California veterinary license allows me to examine and prescribe medications without an in-person physical exam of your cat or kitten living in California. This greatly expands my ability to practice holistic feline medicine both locally, with kitties that are too fearful to be seen in person, and kitties who would otherwise be too far away for me to see in person. Wellness Telehealth Visit - All Cats, All Ages

The fee covers a 45-minute telehealth visit to discuss your cat or kitten's wellness. We will discuss your cat's past health history, diet and other husbandry issues, and any behavioral or other concerns you may have, and develop a plan to optimize your cat's health and wellness.

Sick Kitty Telehealth Visit - All Cats, All Ages

The fee covers a 45-minute telehealth visit to discuss your sick cat or kitten. We will discuss your cat's past health history, current symptoms, diet and other husbandry issues, and any behavioral or other concerns you may have, and develop an appropriate treatment plan.

In-Person Physical Exams

The fee shown covers the physical examination, and a review of your cat's current husbandry, nutrition, and behavior. Physical exam visits generally run one hour. There are additional fees for travel to your location and any vaccinations, medications, diagnostics, acupuncture, or other services recommended by the doctor.

Chronic Disease Management or 2nd Opinion Exam

The veterinarian will review medical records, lab results, radiology reports, histopathology reports, etc. from all previous veterinarians, perform a physical exam on your cat, and develop a holistic plan for managing your cat's illness. The starting fee of $750 covers up to 50 pages of medical records, with incremental increases for additional pages, and/or handwritten records. There are additional fees for travel to your location and any other treatments or services recommended by the doctor. 

Behavior Consultation

750 & up

The veterinarian will review medical records and lab results from your previous veterinarian, interview you about the behavior issues you're observing, examine your home and lifestyle for clues to the root of the issues, and develop a holistic plan for re-shaping your cat's behavior. The starting fee of $750 covers up to 50 pages of medical records, with incremental increases for additional pages, and/or handwritten records. There are additional fees for travel.

Nutrition Consultation

750 & up

The veterinarian will review medical records, allergy test results, and other lab results from your previous veterinarian, interview you about your cat's diet history, and develop a holistic nutritional plan for your cat. The starting fee of $750 covers up to 50 pages of medical records, with incremental increases for additional pages, and/or handwritten records. There are additional fees for travel.

Fees for Ongoing Treatment/ Follow-Up Visits

Varies with time and complexity. There are additional fees for travel to your location and any vaccinations, medications, diagnostics, flea treatments, or other services recommended by the doctor.  

 

Travel Fee

A flat fee added to the services, for locations within 20 miles of Central Escondido. Travel to locations beyond 20 miles will also incur a mileage fee of $6/mile.

Mileage Fee

There is a mileage fee of $6 per mile for locations more than 20 miles away from our location in Central Escondido, and/or if travel between multiple locations is required. 

After Hours, Weekends & Holidays Surcharge (non-emergency)

The ZenCat Foundation is Dr. Phoenix's non-profit organization, dedicated to providing veterinary care to cats and kittens in our community whose guardians are not able to afford to pay. All necessary services - house call, exam, diagnostics, and treatments - are provided at our cost, or no cost to you, depending on your income level.
