I can't express enough appreciation for Dr Phoenix. She takes the practice to another level!
She takes an incredible personal interest in your cat. She follows up more than I have ever experienced. And the fact she sees the cat in its own environment gives her the whole picture.
Going to the Vet office-- you have whole process of putting your cat in a carrier and dragging him into the Vet's office (meowing all the way). Not anymore!!
Unbelievable as it is, she was able to perform surgery on the kitchen counter. Won't go into the details, but she definitely is a Doctor you can trust!
Don't even hesitate calling ZenCat. Your beloved kitty will thank you!

Dr. Phoenix is an absolute jewel. Once again Oreo, our 20 year old + plus old cat benefited from her competency, compassion and a huge dose of empathy. We are so very fortunate to have such a highly intelligent well-versed problem solver care for our precious kitties.
San Diego's best Vet!!!
Not only will she come to your house she actually listens and investigates the issues that your kitty is going through. She really cares and has the competency to alleviate suffering.
We are eternally grateful for the care Dr. Phoenix gives our kitties.
Super Dr. Phoenix to the rescue again.
Oreo had a UTI flare up And Dr. Phoenix rushed over to give him a shot while he was sleeping he didn't even feel the shot.
Dr Phoenix provides an amazing service that is non-traumatic in the comfort of your kitties own home.
Thank you Dr. Phoenix due to your compassion empathy and competency we are enjoying a very happy Thanksgiving with our 20+-year-old cat Oreo. He is alert comfortable and content thanks to you.

I love Dr. Phoenix and ZenCat!!
When I rescued my little cat Pebbles from a marina, where she had been abandoned 2 years ago, she was too frail and skiddish to put into a carrying case. Luckily I found out about Dr. Phoenix! She came to our house for a full exam and she's been our trusted vet since.
Dr. Phoenix (and all of her very caring assistants) only make house calls - so it's like having a concierge doc for our little fur baby. I can easily reach Dr. Phoenix on her cell anytime I have a question or concern, and we ALWAYS receive loving, red carpet service. I also love how Dr. Phoenix incorporates traditional veterinary medicine with holistic foods and practices like aromatherapy. I can't imagine using another vet for our little one.
Thank you Dr. Phoenix for all you do!
You can't go wrong calling ZenCat!

Dr. Phoenix visited us in our home on Dec. 31(!), to meet the kitty who "adopted" us several months ago. We had no idea of the kitty's age or past medical history. She'd been a very frightened stray in our neighborhood for a couple of years surviving off the rodents in PB. We'd finally gotten her to trust us. We didn't want to betray her trust by dragging her to a scary vet's office.
Dr. Phoenix was awesome. We filled out the new patient form online before she came so she knew a bit about our kitty and us. She immediately got onto the floor at kitty's eye level and spoke soothingly to her. Dr. Phoenix stayed at our house for well over an hour and talked to us about immunizations, diet, nails, toys, etc., while conducting a thorough examination. She was completely nonjudgemental and very supportive. She even clipped kitty's nails which were more like talons, and the cat let her do it!
Dr. Phoenix dispensed medication that was a liquid on the back of kitty's head for her worm issues and a nasal spray vaccine (less well received, ha!) to protect her from illnesses. Dr. Phoenix is a holistic veterinarian who is cautious about over prescribing treatments and vaccines. She explains the pros and cons and considerations based on the lifestyle of your pet, and lets you decide the best course of action.
We were so grateful that we didn't have to submit our kitty to the trauma of a crate, car, and busy veterinarian practice. She has forgiven us for any indignities of her examination and treatments, and we feel secure that we can go forward as responsible cat guardians with Dr. Phoenix's future guidance.

Dr. Phoenix is the greatest vet I've ever met. She prepared for Bella Kitty's appointment by carefully going thru years and years of paperwork, labs and radiology.
She showed up prepared and knew every little detail about Bella kitty.
She is so warm, friendly and smart. She is very intuitive and thorough in her assessment. She was so wonderful to Bella and followed up with a detailed treatment plan.
I HIGHLY recommend her to anyone with a kitty, she even comes to your home and makes it affordable too.
I'm a Nutritionist myself so appreciate that she gets the importance of good quality food and water for our animals, she is an absolute gem,

I'm a new mommy with a small baby and an old cat! Such a huge convenience to have found a mobile vet. I mean, it's hard enough getting my cat to the vet, but with a baby in tow, it's impossible.
I can't recommend Dr. Phoenix enough - she's a cat expert. Dr. Phoenix came to my home to do a physical on my 12-year-old fur baby, Moxie. I've been worried about her lately as since my son was born I haven't given her much attention and she's developed some bad behaviors. Dr. Phoenix brought all the equipment with her and she did a full examination in my living room. Dr. Phoenix was patient, professional and Moxie was a lot more calm than she would have been if I'd brought her to a clinic.
During the visit Dr. Phoenix addressed all my concerns and gave me practical advice how to help Moxie adjust to the new baby.
We have future appointments already scheduled so Moxie will get all her shots when needed.

ZenCat is a feline-exclusive holistic house call veterinary practice, offering cats and their guardians the opportunity to achieve optimum health and wellness where kitties are happiest… in the comfort of their own home!
The ZenCat holistic approach means that all aspects of your cat and his or her lifestyle are taken into consideration. Most veterinarians limit their scheduled appointments to 15 minutes, but ZenCat appointments are scheduled for at least one hour. This allows enough time to perform a full physical exam, and time to discuss nutrition (the foundation of wellness), water availability and intake (the key to keeping kitty’s kidneys healthy), litterbox assessment, behavioral issues, and anything else you’d like to discuss with the vet.
ZenCat offers Western and Eastern treatment modalities, pharmaceutical alternatives, blood work, urinalysis, fecal exams, vaccinations, parasite control, eye tests, minor surgery, dental cleanings, and ultrasound. We specialize in chronic disease management for arthritis, kidney disease, hyperthyroid, feline herpesvirus, heart disease, and diabetes, palliative and hospice care, quality of life assessment, and in-home euthanasia – the last, greatest gift you can give your kitty when it’s time to transition from this life to the next.
Founded in 2017 by Dr. Phoenix Watt, the crazy cat lady who went to veterinary school, ZenCat's mission is to ensure that your cat receives the best possible treatment by a veterinarian who really loves and cares for cats. This is not what Dr. Phoenix observed during the thousands of hours spent preparing for veterinary school, and during veterinary school, working in dozens of well-respected hospitals and other clinical settings, where cats were often treated as second-class citizens. That’s not fair to the cat or her guardian. So her goal in creating ZenCat is to bring best-in-class veterinary care into your home, creating the best possible experience for your cat, and you!
Over the decades, Dr. Phoenix has been the doting guardian of many wonderful cats, which means that, like her clients, she's been a consumer of veterinary services for a long time. Most vets go to high school, then university, then vet school, lacking the practical experience of being on the consumer side of veterinary medicine. But Dr. Phoenix knows what that’s like, and feels her experiences inform her practice and make her a better vet.
Our clients love ZenCat because they don’t have to go through the nightmare of shoving an unwilling cat into a carrier, driving with their poor baby wailing in the back seat during the long drive, sitting in a reception area with barking dogs and noisy videos, and then having to take the carrier apart to get the cat out… all in order to talk to a doctor for five minutes! (And of course, the experience is exponentially worse trying to take multiple cats to the vet at once!) They know that with a ZenCat house call the veterinarian comes to the house, kitty is examined in his calm, Zen-like, familiar home surroundings, and nothing is rushed.
What really makes us unique is that we are a holistic house call veterinary practice exclusively for cats. ZenCat is also organized as a not-for-profit corporation, dedicated to educating cat owners, and providing veterinary services to the underserved in our community. Dr. Phoenix has never taken a paycheck for her work on behalf of ZenCat, preferring to use the income from her paying clients, and donations, to allow her to provide veterinary services to those who could not otherwise afford it.
What makes us stand out is that we LOVE cats, and are dedicated to making veterinary services available to every cat at every life stage.
